THE END IS HERE?

THE END of experimental music as we know it?
THE END IS HERE!

A brand NEW group of experimental music will see the light in 2018!
 THE END

The members have been working with many essential groups within the contemporary creative music scene of today: Deerhoof, Møster!, The Thing, Fire! & Fire! Orchestra, Nervous Cop, Ultralyd, MoHa!, Paavo, Datarock, The Core, Noxagt, NU- ensemble, Brutal Blues and many others.

THE END is an attempt to use all these experiences and melt them together into something new and creative. Something of deeper poetic beauty and harsh brutality. Industrial Grindcore Free Jazz meets Sing & Noise Hardcore Esthetics!
THE END means the sensational return of Anders Hana on guitar, after years of only playing intense Grindcore drums.
THE END means the first serious meeting of the two Scandinavian innovative saxophone free blowers Møster and Gustafsson.
THE END means the presentation of the extreme voice of Sofia Jernberg in a totally new context surrounded by extreme electronics and drums!

THE END means the first ever Scandinavian based group of legendary Deerhoof drummer Greg Saunier!
THE END means THE END
THE END will create new perspectives of contemporary experimental music – where elements of noise, melodies and layers of extreme energy can interact with the different backgrounds and experiences of the musicians and their work in genres like Free Jazz, Noise, Alternative Rock, Free Improvised Music, Contemporary Music, Opera, Grindcore, Jazz and related activities!
Expect ENERGY Expect BEAUTY
THE END will play their first concerts in January 2018, followed by a studio recording in Bergen, Norway for the UK based label RareNoise Recordings. https://www.rarenoiserecords.com/

FIRE! ORCHESTRA —– ARRIVAL!

Posted on by

The new version of Fire! Orchestra is here!
After the previous experiences of “EXIT”, “ENTER” and “RITUAL” – it is all about to change now.
A new line-up – a new concept – a new sound – and a new piece: ARRIVAL!

Mariam Wallentin – voice
Sofia Jernberg – voice
Anna Lindal – violin
Leo Svensson – cello
Josefin Runsteen – violin
Katt Hernandez – viola
Per Texas Johansson – contrabass- and bass clarinets
Christer Bothén – contrabass- and bass clarinets
Isak Hedtjärn – Bb clarinet
Alexander Zethson – piano
Susana Santos Silva – trumpet
Mats Gustafsson – baritone sax
Johan Berthling – basses
Andreas Werliin  – drums
Mikael Werliin – sound

The new acoustic line-up features a dominant focus on strings and clarinets. This creates a whole new sound situation and puts a new twist on the way of working with the music. Rehearsals, research, compositional and structural work will take place in the fall of 2017. Touring, recording (for Rune Grammofon, of course) and festival activities for 2018 are the next phase of the plan, with a totally new way of working in a large setting with the usual hub of the Fire! trio as the force at the creative center of it all.
This configuration will use the experience of the previous pieces, while letting the members of this new version of the ensemble be way more active and involved in creating something unique and evolving together.
The voices of Mariam Wallentin and Sofia Jernberg will continue to be the creative frontline, with the Fire! Orchestra working in an entirely new way, even using a cover version of Robbie Basho´s “Blue Crystal Fire”.
Lines and layers of violin poetry will ARRIVE with the energy and melodic frenzy of clarinet aesthetics.
Slow modules of riff fundaments will ARRIVE with the inyourface attitude of the dedicated voices of supreme beauty.
Pointilistic piano and harmonic freedom will ARRIVE with the wild trumpet lines of high energy densities and beauty.
It is all connected. It is all about sharing. It is all part of the ARRIVAL!
The ARRIVAL of something new.
The ARRIVAL of a new sound and colour!
The ARRIVAL of the new Fire! Orchestra

Music by Fire! & Mariam Wallentin

New recording Angles 9

Posted on by
In January 2017 Angles 9 will release their new album “Disappeared behind the sun” on CD. In March 2017 it will be out on  LP. Both releases will be on Clean Feed records. But Omlott records in Gothenburg has already released Angles 9’ debut 7 inch.

From the press release:

Angles 9′ 7” single has been launched by fabulous Omlott records in December 2016.The two songs on the single are raw extracts from a much larger recording session (with a later release date) made in May 2016 in Sickla, Stockholm by Anton Sundell. He is responsible for the very literal cassette approach we can hear: very sharp, loud and punchy and with a lot of wit thrown into the vortex of this mad mix. With members from all over the place: from Fire!, Atomic, Subtropic Arkestra, Je Suis, Team Hegdal, Oddjobb, Per Texas Johansson 4tett, All Included…. Angles 9 makes music that really stands out. For what it is worth.”Equality & Death (mothers, fathers where are ye?)” is a desperate kick in the global totalitarian face.”Pacemaker” is about young and old – to keep the pace, ad infinitum….
Andreas Werliin, Johan Berthling, Goran Kajfes, Alexander Zethson, Magnus Broo, Mats Äleklint, Eirik Hegdal, Mattias Ståhl and Martin Küchen invite you to the musical putsch of the year!

WELCOME!
